Packed into a dressing room on the 6th floor of the Beacon Theater, the interview began at 3:30, only to be interrupted by the urgent need to soundcheck before the Union hands declared a dark stage. Jim kindly stayed for soundcheck and we continued our talk thereafter, some of us crouched on the floor, others looming in corners and through door frames.

The interview was published today and we are excited for you to read it! Click here for the full story.

A few weeks ago, I had a memorably engaging conversation with Eric Danton. We discussed yMusic and pondered the future of classical music. The result is a lovely piece in the Hartford Courant. As someone who grew up minutes away in Windsor, CT, it is an honor to be featured in my childhood local paper. It is also purely coincidental and fun to share the article with Peter Katis, a wonderful engineer/producer also from Connecticut. In fact, I will be working with him on a recording project in mere days.

Click on over here if you have a moment.

NPR plays "Proven Badlands" and calls yMusic "one of the groups that has really helped to shape the future of classical music."

We are honored to have been included in yesterday’s edition of NPR’s All Things Considered. In addition to playing our track, “Proven Badlands,” Fred Child had the following lovely things to say about us:

“This is one of the groups that has really helped to shape the future of classical music. There are six musicians in yMusic, kind of a mini-orchestra: violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, trumpet and sometimes guitar. This piece, “Proven Badlands,” I find this really beautiful. Its composer, Annie Clark of St. Vincent, uses textures wonderfully and inventively. To me, this almost sounds like the soundtrack to a 21st-century Western movie.”

Stream the track here, buy the album here and come see us perform here!

Happy holidays!
