Rob Moose and CJ Camerieri play a show with the National at BAM, 50 feet across the stage from each other. They run into an old friend, Nadia Sirota, at the afterparty (at Frank’s Cocktail Lounge), and the three of them discuss forming group that can play chamber music and support popular artists with the same precision and energy.

Bryce and Aaron Dessner invite yMusic to play their Music NOW festival in Cincinnati, alongside St. Vincent and Justin Vernon.

yMusic meets Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. The meeting would lead to a long creative collaboration between Justin, Rob and CJ. The two members of yMusic joined Bon Iver in 2011, winning two Grammys with the band.
